Kyle Cockram began his construction journey in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. His professional career started with remodeling homes full time in 2008 after growing up with a contractor father, project manager grandfather, and master electrician grandfather. Over the next 5 years Kyle gained extensive interior remodeling experience as well as additions, new construction, outdoor living, and more. He then moved to Louisiana where he met his wife, RayLynne. There he continued in the construction industry and added some light commercial construction to his resume. Kyle and RayLynne have a passion for meeting new people and experiencing new cultures so they left Louisiana in 2016 and moved to Indiana, Oregon, and finally landed in Colorado Springs in 2017. Throughout that year Kyle continued to expand his construction knowledge and grew his landscaping knowledge by working as a Head Groundskeeper at a campground as well as working for a Tiny House company in Oregon. In Colorado Springs, Kyle began working for a decking and landscape company. He worked his way up to Operations Manager over his 5 years there and was able to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to run a business. Knowing he still had a passion for interior construction work he took that knowledge and with a leap of faith started Southern Mesa at the end of 2021. Outside of work Kyle enjoys spending time with his two daughters, son, and RayLynne exploring the outdoors of Colorado. Kyle and RayLynne still have a passion for travel but when that’s not possible Kyle can be found hiking, fly fishing, or hunting.

RayLynne Cockram co-owns Southern Mesa with Kyle and is also the current Marketing and Business Development Manager. RayLynne began her career as an Athletic Trainer after graduating from LSU and went on to work at the University of Denver. She later transitioned into the personal training industry, specializing in helping individuals bridge the gap between physical therapy and returning to regular exercise. In 2013, RayLynne moved back to Louisiana, where she met Kyle, who would become her husband and business partner. They were married in January 2016 and lived in several different places before settling in Colorado in 2017. In 2021, RayLynne and Kyle founded Southern Mesa, with RayLynne leading the marketing efforts alongside her personal training career. In 2024, she made the decision to step away from personal training to focus fully on Southern Mesa. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Colorado, hiking, and spending time with Kyle and their three children—Ava, Kallie, and Jace.

Southern Mesa was great to work with. Sage assisted our clients that were experiencing issues with their doors catching on the frame. We were very pleased with their communication, professionalism, and quality of work. I would highly recommend!

I had a kitchen faucet replacement done recently. I was quoted $800 by affordable plumbing (ironic right? what a joke!) and was shell shocked to say the least. I was really unsure of where to buy the faucet and had lots of questions about that. Sage facilitated everything and answered all my questions and helped me feel comfortable in my decision. He was great! Mark installed the faucet I chose and he was truly awesome! He was quick and efficient and the finished product is perfect. And I paid less than half the cost of other quotes!! They were both really accommodating and easy to get ahold of. Thanks guys for an amazing job! 10/10 would recommend!

Sage with Southern Mesa has been great to work with. He helped us with a half-bath addition, taking care of multiple aspects of the project at once. He still manages to get the details right even while juggling everything. We appreciated his willingness to go above and beyond to help us meet our design goals and timeline. We would absolutely hire Southern Mesa to handle any project of ours in the future.

We bought our forever home because of the land, and knew we’d need help making the house livable for our family. Right away Kyle (owner) and Cody (project manager) stood out from the rest with prompt and honest communication, and incredible attention to detail. They treated it as if they were completing the project for family and no consideration was overlooked. We completed a 600sq ft+ addition with Southern Mesa, and we’re looking forward to enjoying it for decades. We have future projects we’d like to add over time, and it’s no question who we’ll go to, and we recommend them to anyone looking to add value to their home.

Grant and his team were exceptional in every regard from communicating to precision preparation and painting. They were punctual, personable, timely, and thorough. They washed outlet plates and vents. Cleaned up all materials and vacuumed. Reasonably priced, too. Start to finish the team was highly professional.

What a fantastic job the SM team did! The handyman services provided great service and know their expertise. I needed a crack sealed in my house foundation and my basement wall re-plastered. They informed me about moisture accumulating and helped mitigated the problem. They even redid my grading in the front yard and could not be more happier! Thank you also for your job cleanliness! I would come home and not worry about sweeping my house and my porch. Very much recommend.

I will absolutely be calling Southern Mesa again after the great work they did in my house. We had a wall in our master bedroom that the previous owner stuck vinyl flooring planks to...I'm talking construction glued them down. My wife and I wanted to change up the room as some of the planks were bowing and falling off the wall, but when I started taking them off I realized they were ripping the drywall apart, tearing the top layer paper, and leaving a ton of glue residue over the wall. I didn't want to get in over my head so I called around a few places and Southern Mesa was the only one that gave me a fair quote and explained the entire process to me. When the drywall guys came out, they had the entire wall skim coated in a couple hours and textured in 15 minutes the next morning. They did an amazing job and took great care of the room laying drop cloths, wearing booties, and cleaning up after themselves. I have zero complaints and would recommend them to anyone. Sage, the handyman division lead, was awesome to work with, set clear expectations, replied to every question I had quickly, and was very professional. 10/10 would work with again.

Southern Mesa is an excellent company that lives up to its word. They have a list of core values that they truly honor & that’s what makes working with them a great experience. Their pre-project planning & communication is outstanding & this lends itself to a very smooth execution of the project. The communication remains strong throughout the entire process so that as a homeowner, you’re in the loop about everything. We did a total remodel of our kitchen & main living space to make it a very open concept design. It turned out so well & everything we’d dreamed of & planned was fulfilled & then some! We never had concern about the crew, as they are very professional & represent the company well. Our neighbors even commented on how friendly, polite & tidy they were. The subcontractors who come in are all vetted & we actually got to meet each of them ahead of time in a planning meeting. It’s these details that make a huge difference & instill confidence in turning your home over for a project. I could go on & on, but suffice it to say that Southern Mesa does excellent work from the initial meeting clear through to the big reveal. Our house is beautiful & the craftsmanship is superior. They care about their work & want it to shine. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can give is that we will have them back for more work. We’re planning Phase 2 of our remodel & we KNOW that there’s no need to look for anyone else. It’s Southern Mesa or bust for us!!

Southern Mesa was an excellent company to work with for the new build out of Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness. A 3,000 sq ft space they were involved with cabinetry, flooring, paint and millwork. Their professionalism, communication and productivity exceed other subcontractors I have worked with. Kyle, Sage and Grant were instrumental in making this project a success. Highly recommend!

We had a garage that was only wallboarded on the walls adjoining the house. We had insulation put in and now needed wallboard to complete it. Southern Mesa did an exceptional job. Austin & Keith worked for 6hrs or more installing the wallboard, taping and mudding. They even marked where various hooks were and reinstalled them at the end. We couldn't be happier with the guys, their work and Southern Mesa. Sage stopped by midway to check on their progress. At last, our garage looks cohesive and will be warmer come winter. We will be calling Southern Mesa to do another project soon.

Working with Southern Mesa was exactly what I had hoped for! Between the ease of the project management software they use, to having experts like Kyle explain and walk through processes, I will absolutely hire them for my next build.

Kyle and his team at Southern Mesa LLC are the real deal!! The do quality, quick, professional work. We wanted to bring our basement from the early 80s to now and they did not disappoint! They tore down walls, built a 6th bedroom for the house. They rerouted plumbing. They fixed and rerouted and added lighting/electrical in too many places to count. They even added a new path to get to our fresh walkout basement. I’ve added some photos of the transformation! (Counter tops are coming in tomorrow and there’s a little painting left to do on the baseboards but I just had to get the word out!) This was an amazing job and we couldn’t be more pleased!!! Would you hire Southern Mesa LLC? I sure hope so. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!

I was referred to Southern Mesa because they were a full service home repair company. Kyle Cockram is the owner and is very professional and easy to deal with. I’ve had to request a few changes during the project and Kyle was very helpful and ensured that the process was always done right from the beginning to completion of the project.once you’re on the schedule the work is fast and beautifully done. I’ve also had the pleasure to work with Sage one of the construction foremen and it was very pleasant to work with him. Sage is very professional and easy to deal with. Sage was able to install both my storm doors efficiently and quickly. Sage will also be doing my deck repair. Sage and Kyle were able to make suggestions for my deck that will save me a couple thousand dollars on my repair. It’s not everyday that’ll a company will do that. Southern Mesa also offers discounts for military & seniors. If you want your remodel or home renovation done right I’d suggest you contact Southern Mesa today.

Can’t say enough about Kyle and his crew. Mark, Hunter, Grant, Michael and others did an excellent job on my house. Wood flooring, pergola, front porch concrete, landscaping front and back and lots of other important jobs. The whole process was a pleasure. I always felt informed from the first meeting to the finished product. They were also excellent advocates for any issues with the sub-contractors. Everything came out exactly how I envisioned. I recommended Southern Mesa to my neighbors, friends and family and I will continue to look to them for future renovations. And, my dog loved all of them too.

Kyle and his crew worked quickly and efficiently while redoing our bathroom. His wife Raylynne helped us pick out options for tile and paint, and we loved her suggestions. Kyle was communicative and clear throughout the process, and he is extremely adept at what he does. I trust Southern Mesa for any project in my home and we look forward to working with them in the future. We love our new bathroom!

Southern Mesa did the best job building my Murphy bed. The reviews all said that the holes didn’t line up, that there was a weird gap in the front, and that he drawer would sometimes slide open. Sage and Ben addressed all of these issues and built it better than the instructions. So thankful for their attention to detail and high-quality work!

We worked with Southern Mesa to demo our kitchen counters & install a new backsplash, and they did a fantastic job. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding - they care about the little details and take the time to do things right. What really sets Southern Mesa apart is the communication. We had a group chat with our project manager, Cody, and the owner, Kyle, so we knew what to expect at all times during our project. Cody, Sage, and Ben were an amazing team to work with, and I hope to work with them on many more projects in the future.

Southern Mesa just completed a complete remodel of two of our bathrooms. We couldn’t be more happier. The quality of work and level of professionalism is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Having the crew in our house for two weeks was not easy, but their cheerful attitude, professional demeanor, and ongoing communication constantly put us at ease. At the end of the project, there were a few things that just didn’t work as expected, and they were quick to send an employee out to get the work completed to standard. We are thankful for the work they did and look forward to enjoying their handy-work for years to come. I highly recommend Southern Mesa for any work or remodeling you need done at your home.
