Kyle Cockram began his construction journey in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. His professional career started with remodeling homes full time in 2008 after growing up with a contractor father, project manager grandfather, and master electrician grandfather. Over the next 5 years Kyle gained extensive interior remodeling experience as well as additions, new construction, outdoor living, and more. He then moved to Louisiana where he met his wife, RayLynne. There he continued in the construction industry and added some light commercial construction to his resume. Kyle and RayLynne have a passion for meeting new people and experiencing new cultures so they left Louisiana in 2016 and moved to Indiana, Oregon, and finally landed in Colorado Springs in 2017. Throughout that year Kyle continued to expand his construction knowledge and grew his landscaping knowledge by working as a Head Groundskeeper at a campground as well as working for a Tiny House company in Oregon. In Colorado Springs, Kyle began working for a decking and landscape company. He worked his way up to Operations Manager over his 5 years there and was able to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to run a business. Knowing he still had a passion for interior construction work he took that knowledge and with a leap of faith started Southern Mesa at the end of 2021. Outside of work Kyle enjoys spending time with his two daughters, son, and RayLynne exploring the outdoors of Colorado. Kyle and RayLynne still have a passion for travel but when that’s not possible Kyle can be found hiking, fly fishing, or hunting.
RayLynne Cockram co-owns Southern Mesa with Kyle and is also the current Marketing and Business Development Manager. RayLynne began her career as an Athletic Trainer after graduating from LSU and went on to work at the University of Denver. She later transitioned into the personal training industry, specializing in helping individuals bridge the gap between physical therapy and returning to regular exercise. In 2013, RayLynne moved back to Louisiana, where she met Kyle, who would become her husband and business partner. They were married in January 2016 and lived in several different places before settling in Colorado in 2017. In 2021, RayLynne and Kyle founded Southern Mesa, with RayLynne leading the marketing efforts alongside her personal training career. In 2024, she made the decision to step away from personal training to focus fully on Southern Mesa. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Colorado, hiking, and spending time with Kyle and their three children—Ava, Kallie, and Jace.

After a while, the idea of bigger mountains pulled him out to Colorado. Once he landed in the Springs, Connor worked for a local company where he was able to grow his skills and really start to appreciate the craft side of carpentry. That experience eventually led him to start his own handyman business, which taught him a lot about problem-solving, working with homeowners, and taking pride in doing things the right way. Over time, Connor realized he wanted to be part of something bigger and work alongside a solid team, which is what brought him to Southern Mesa. When Connor is not working you can usually find him golfing, skiing, or hanging out in the backyard playing guitar.

Sage was great. The job wasn’t done to my satisfaction the first time but Sage took ownership and stayed engaged - even coming out himself - until the job was done right. I’d highly recommend these guys because Sage takes care to make sure his customers are satisfied with the work!
We had an amazing experience with Southern Mesa. They were friendly, professional, and always on time. Their workmanship was immaculate and excellent quality. And after finishing the job, Grant made a special trip over to make sure we were satisfied with their work. We would use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone.
Great communication! Extremely polite and professional! I have already recommended them to several people! They have great workers who do quality work! We absolutely love our new deck and we look forward to using them again!
Quick work, good work, no issues. Thanks!
Courteous professional did a great job, great value.
We had a garage that was only wallboarded on the walls adjoining the house. We had insulation put in and now needed wallboard to complete it. Southern Mesa did an exceptional job. Austin & Keith worked for 6hrs or more installing the wallboard, taping and mudding. They even marked where various hooks were and reinstalled them at the end. We couldn't be happier with the guys, their work and Southern Mesa. Sage stopped by midway to check on their progress. At last, our garage looks cohesive and will be warmer come winter. We will be calling Southern Mesa to do another project soon.
Grant and Joe did an awesome job painting my very large front porch. It looks better than new.
Keith and Aistin did s fantastic job on a dirty and difficult project. They needed to work on their knees or back to remove old plywood and insulation then cover the space with new plywood once the new insulation was sprayed on the void. Installed the plywood, caulked the seams, and painted the new wood. Would give them a 10 for a job we'll done. Definitely recommend this company and these techs for all your difficult household repairs.
I will absolutely be calling Southern Mesa again after the great work they did in my house. We had a wall in our master bedroom that the previous owner stuck vinyl flooring planks to...I'm talking construction glued them down. My wife and I wanted to change up the room as some of the planks were bowing and falling off the wall, but when I started taking them off I realized they were ripping the drywall apart, tearing the top layer paper, and leaving a ton of glue residue over the wall. I didn't want to get in over my head so I called around a few places and Southern Mesa was the only one that gave me a fair quote and explained the entire process to me. When the drywall guys came out, they had the entire wall skim coated in a couple hours and textured in 15 minutes the next morning. They did an amazing job and took great care of the room laying drop cloths, wearing booties, and cleaning up after themselves. I have zero complaints and would recommend them to anyone. Sage, the handyman division lead, was awesome to work with, set clear expectations, replied to every question I had quickly, and was very professional. 10/10 would work with again.
Southern Mesa is an excellent company that lives up to its word. They have a list of core values that they truly honor & that’s what makes working with them a great experience. Their pre-project planning & communication is outstanding & this lends itself to a very smooth execution of the project. The communication remains strong throughout the entire process so that as a homeowner, you’re in the loop about everything. We did a total remodel of our kitchen & main living space to make it a very open concept design. It turned out so well & everything we’d dreamed of & planned was fulfilled & then some! We never had concern about the crew, as they are very professional & represent the company well. Our neighbors even commented on how friendly, polite & tidy they were. The subcontractors who come in are all vetted & we actually got to meet each of them ahead of time in a planning meeting. It’s these details that make a huge difference & instill confidence in turning your home over for a project. I could go on & on, but suffice it to say that Southern Mesa does excellent work from the initial meeting clear through to the big reveal. Our house is beautiful & the craftsmanship is superior. They care about their work & want it to shine. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can give is that we will have them back for more work. We’re planning Phase 2 of our remodel & we KNOW that there’s no need to look for anyone else. It’s Southern Mesa or bust for us!!
Southern Mesa was an excellent company to work with for the new build out of Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness. A 3,000 sq ft space they were involved with cabinetry, flooring, paint and millwork. Their professionalism, communication and productivity exceed other subcontractors I have worked with. Kyle, Sage and Grant were instrumental in making this project a success. Highly recommend!
Kyle and his guys did an amazing job with transforming our space from black, torn up insulation on the walls to trimmed and painted drywall! They were on top of any changes and additional work I requested. I would use Southern Mesa again for any additional work I would need!
Southern mesa was great experience. Sage helped us with some pretty complex woodwork in my kitchen and great room and I would not work with anyone else going forward. Responsive, polite , professional from beginning to end. He and his team are really a breath of fresh air compared to past vendors I have hired and trusted to work on my home -given the vast amount of services and projects they offer - I will continue to work with them going forward.
I was referred to Southern Mesa because they were a full service home repair company. Kyle Cockram is the owner and is very professional and easy to deal with. I’ve had to request a few changes during the project and Kyle was very helpful and ensured that the process was always done right from the beginning to completion of the project.once you’re on the schedule the work is fast and beautifully done. I’ve also had the pleasure to work with Sage one of the construction foremen and it was very pleasant to work with him. Sage is very professional and easy to deal with. Sage was able to install both my storm doors efficiently and quickly. Sage will also be doing my deck repair. Sage and Kyle were able to make suggestions for my deck that will save me a couple thousand dollars on my repair. It’s not everyday that’ll a company will do that. Southern Mesa also offers discounts for military & seniors. If you want your remodel or home renovation done right I’d suggest you contact Southern Mesa today.
Southern Mesa was a great group to work with. I engaged them to re-side my home which had water intrusion through the old siding. Kyle and Grant came out in Sept. of 2024 and discussed options and provided a quote, with the understanding that we could not start until Apr 2025 at the earliest. Good as their word work started Apr 1st. They did a great job with siding and painting and keeping my wife and I abreast of all issues that came up including scheduling, Apr and May can be fun in CO with the weather swings, great options when hidden damage was found, though to that point there was very little damage that they did not account for, the ladder inspection they provided was well worth a little extra. I would certainly recommend them remodeling work! Thank you so much for a great remodel experience!
